This ballot item removes a reference to 1s and 1s%. The terms “1s” (one-sigma limit) and “1s%” (one sigma limit in percent) are being used for the single-operator standard deviation or single-operator coefficient of variation, respectively. This ballot item replaces “1s” with “standard deviation” and “1s%” with “coefficient of variation”. This is consistent with current language in ASTM C670 Standard Practice for Preparing Precision and Bias Statements for Test Methods for Construction Materials and will make it easier for the user to identify what value to use when evaluating testing error and duplicate testing frequency.
