Revision of F2291-22a Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices
Rationale
The goal of this ballot is to change the terminology section heading in F2291 from “Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard” to “Definitions” to allow for the definitions to apply to all F24 standards, not just F2291.
This change is compliant with ASTM Form & Style Section C21 for Standard Practices (which references Section A7 and Part E).
Many of the terms defined within the terminology section of F2291 are used throughout the array of standards produced and maintained by the F24 subcommittee, driven in part by F2291’s designation as a core standard for F24. However, because the title of the of the section in this standard is “Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard”, the definitions do not currently apply when used elsewhere. By changing the title of the section to “Definitions”, these terms can continue to be reflected in F747 as not specific to just F2291 and will be applied to all F24 standards and subcommittees.
