Revision of F747-21a Standard Terminology Relating to Amusement Rides and Devices
Rationale
This ballot is to add an Appendix to F747 to house a flowchart. This flowchart has been developed over the past two years with the assistance of the Terminology Task Group to serve as a guide and assist F24 Subcommittees and Members in determining whether or not a term should be defined. The scope of this flowchart is to provide guidance regarding if a term should be defined in a standard or not; the scope does not cover topics such as whether a term should be specific to a standard, how the definition should be worded, etc. (It is intended by the Task Group that a secondary flowchart will be developed in the future to address those topics.)
This flowchart guide was developed based on Part E of ASTM’s Form & Style for ASTM Standards as published on the ASTM site.
