Committee D15 on Engine Coolants and Related Fluids

Staff Manager: Ashley Wiand

ASTM Committee D15 on Engine Coolants and Related Fluids was formed in 1947. D15 meets twice a year, usually in May and October, with approximately 50 members attending two days of technical meetings. The committee, with current membership of 223, currently has jurisdiction of over 60 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 15.05. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in the engine coolants industry and address issues relating to test methods for reserve alkalinity of engine coolants and antirusts, cavitation corrosion and erosion-corrosion characteristics of aluminum pumps and engine coolants, testing engine coolants in car, light truck service and heavy duty engines and specifications for various formulations of engine coolants for light and heavy duty service.
