ASTM Committee D03 on Gaseous Fuels was formed in 1935. D03 meets twice a year, in June and December, with about 50 members attending two days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a current membership of 216, has jurisdiction 56 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 05.06. D03 has 7 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. Information on this subcommittee structure and D03's portfolio of approved standards and Work Items under development are available from the List of Subcommittees and Standards. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in the gaseous fuels (natural gas) industry and address issues relating to collection and measurement of gaseous fuel samples, determination of heating value and relative density of gaseous fuels, determination of special constituents of gaseous fuels, analysis of chemical composition of gaseous fuels, and thermophysical properties.
